Alongside our signature hikes, we run three day tours for travellers who want to pair a trek with elephants, ancient rock fortresses, or Kandyan heritage. Sena and his team lead these too, with the same private, English-speaking guiding and hotel pickup as our treks.
Our Wildlife Safari tour goes to Minneriya, Kaudulla, Wasgamuwa, or Udawalawe National Park in a private 4x4 jeep, depending on the season. From May to October, Minneriya and Kaudulla host "The Gathering," when herds of 300 or more elephants gather at the reservoirs. Our Sigiriya Lion Rock tour is a 2.5-hour drive from Kandy via Matale, with time to climb the 5th-century rock fortress and see its frescoes, water gardens, and mirror wall. Closer to home, our Kandy City Tour visits the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Royal Botanical Gardens at Peradeniya, with a Classic Loop or Royal Heritage route depending on how much history you want to cover.
Each tour includes private transportation, park or temple entrance fees, and a guide. Many guests combine a morning trek with an afternoon culture tour, or add a Sigiriya or safari day onto a longer Knuckles itinerary. Tell us your dates and we will help you plan the combination.
Experience the rich tapestry of Sri Lanka beyond the hiking trails.

See wild elephants and leopards at Minneriya or Kaudulla National Parks. Private jeep included.

From Kandy we run three main day tours: a wildlife safari to Minneriya, Kaudulla, Wasgamuwa or Udawalawe National Park, a day trip to the Sigiriya Lion Rock and its ancient frescoes, and a Kandy City heritage tour visiting the Temple of the Tooth Relic and the Royal Botanical Gardens.
Yes. Between May and October, we take guests to Minneriya or Kaudulla National Park for 'The Gathering,' where herds of 300 or more elephants gather at the reservoirs. Outside that window we run Wasgamuwa (quieter, wilder, year-round) or Udawalawe (a longer drive, but sightings are close to guaranteed).
Sigiriya is about a 2.5 hour drive from Kandy each way, via Matale. It's a full-day tour (10-12 hours door to door) with time to climb the rock fortress (1200+ steps) and see the frescoes, water gardens, and mirror wall at a comfortable pace.
Yes, every culture and day tour includes private air-conditioned transportation, an English-speaking guide, and entrance fees. Wildlife safaris also include the 4x4 jeep cost within the park.
